Dr. Aashi Chhabra
Postdoctoral Associate
Dr. Aashi Chhabra is a Post-Doctoral Associate in Clinical Psychology who specializes in comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological assessment for adolescents and adults. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from William James College, where she also completed a concentration in Asian Mental Health.
Her primary clinical focus is diagnostic clarification in complex presentations involving ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, executive functioning challenges, learning differences, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, trauma, and other neurodevelopmental and psychological conditions. She has particular expertise in evaluating diagnostically complex cases where culture, identity, developmental history, and lived experience are essential to accurate understanding and diagnosis.
Dr. Chhabra approaches assessment through a culturally responsive and integrative lens, recognizing that psychological symptoms cannot be fully understood outside of the cultural, familial, developmental, and social contexts in which they occur. Her goal is to help clients and families leave the evaluation process with greater clarity, a deeper understanding of their strengths and challenges, and practical recommendations that support growth, self-advocacy, and meaningful next steps. She strives to make the assessment experience collaborative, respectful, and affirming, ensuring that each individual feels seen as a whole person rather than a collection of symptoms.
In addition to her assessment work, Dr. Chhabra provides individual therapy and is a Certified Therapeutic Game Master through Geek Therapeutics. She facilitates therapeutic Dungeons & Dragons groups, a structured, evidence-informed adaptation of tabletop role-playing in which collaborative storytelling is used to support real-world psychological and developmental goals. Through guided gameplay, participants strengthen social communication, emotional regulation, executive functioning, perspective-taking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills while building meaningful connections with others. Hazel Approach Psychological Services is actively welcoming new adolescents and adults interested in joining these therapeutic gaming groups. Whether conducting comprehensive evaluations or facilitating therapeutic groups, Dr. Chhabra's clinical style is warm, collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in curiosity and compassion. She believes that meaningful change begins with understanding and that every client deserves care that honors their unique experiences, culture, and inherent strengths.
