Out-of-Network Coverage Options
In Massachusetts, health insurance plans that offer out-of-network benefits are typically Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) and Point of Service (POS) plans. These plans provide coverage for services received from providers outside their network
If you have a different insurance provider, you may still be able to access our services with out-of-network benefits. We’ve partnered with Thrizer, a platform that simplifies out-of-network reimbursements by managing your claims and maximizing your insurance benefits. Thrizer handles the paperwork so you can focus on your care without the hassle of managing claims.

Self-Pay
There are several reasons why someone might choose to pay out of pocket to cover psychological services, even if they have health insurance or other coverage options. Some of these reasons may include:
There are several reasons why someone might choose to pay out of pocket to cover psychological services, even if they have health insurance or other coverage options. Some of these reasons may include:
Confidentiality
Some individuals may prefer to pay out of pocket for medical or psychological services to maintain confidentiality. If they use their health insurance, certain information about their diagnosis and treatment may be included in their medical records, which could be accessed by their employer or insurance company. By paying out of pocket, they can avoid having this information shared with others.
Choice of provider
Some individuals may prefer to see a provider who is not included in their insurance network or who does not accept insurance at all. Paying out of pocket allows them to choose the provider they prefer, rather than being limited to those in their insurance network.
Access to services
Some services, such as certain types of psychological testing or alternative therapies, may not be covered by insurance or may be subject to significant restrictions. Paying out of pocket may allow individuals to access these services without being limited by insurance coverage.
Faster access to services
In some cases, individuals may need to receive medical or psychological services quickly and may not have time to wait for insurance approval or to find a provider who accepts their insurance. Paying out of pocket can allow them to receive the services they need more quickly.
Payment Plans & Rates
We offer flexible payment options through Affirm and Sunbit, which allow you to "buy now and pay later." This can make the cost of the evaluation more manageable by breaking it into smaller, more convenient payments over time.
